Pokeno Railway Station : ウィキペディア英語版 | Pokeno Railway Station The Pokeno Railway Station is a former railway station in Pokeno on the North Island Main Trunk Line. It opened for pasengers on 20 May 1875 and for goods on 6 April 1879. The station closed to passengers on 24 June 1973 and to goods on 30 March 1980.〔( Juliet Scoble: Names & Opening & Closing Dates of Railway Stations in New Zealand )〕 Work on the proposed Paeroa–Pokeno Line commenced in the 1930s, but little was done and the proposal was abandoned.
